Biomes O’ Pleny Mod is a mod that is designed to give players a better Minecraft world to explore, and more of a reason to explore it in the first place. There are a lot of realistic biomes, some fantasy biomes, and other cool things I’ve added to the mod.
You can change which biomes are generated in the configuration file, found in /.minecraft/config/.
Most blocks and items are just aesthetic, however, there are some that have uses, like the Magic Mirror. It is an “end-game” item that requires a Nether Star and End Stone (See the Crafting Recipes section for how to craft it). It has 10 uses, and lets you teleport back to your spawn point.
There is also another “end-game” item called the Enderporter. It teleports you 5000 blocks in the direction you are facing (North, South, East, or West). It is crafted with Eyes of Ender and a Dragon Egg. It has 15 uses, so be sure to only use it when you need to.
Do NOT use the Magic Mirror or Enderporter in the Nether, or you will spawn above the Nether’s ceiling.
There are also a few new mobs, such as the Jungle Spider, which spawns in tropical/jungle biomes at night, and the Mutants, which are essentially clones of Zombies that only spawn in the Wasteland, and have different drops.
It also adds custom achievements, all of which are just picking up blocks from certain biomes, like red rock, glowflower, etc. They’re just meant to give people more of a reason to explore.
Village generation has been changed to allow villages to spawn in most flat, livable, and realistic biomes (No fantasy biomes). Villages don’t spawn in any other vanilla biomes aside from the Desert and Plains, however.
Emerald ore can be found in multiple biomes outside of the Extreme Hills biome. I won’t say which ones, as it’ll ruin the fun of finding them on your own.
Mud Tools: Same as normal tools, but with mud balls in place of ore. Sticks are still used.
Mud Armor: Same as normal armor, but with mud balls in place of ore.
Wood: The custom logs and planks in this mod can be crafted into anything that vanilla logs/planks can, from doors, to stairs, to jukeboxes. They can also be used as fuel.
Red Rock Cobble/Red Rock Bricks/Mud Bricks: Red Rock Cobble/Bricks and Mud Bricks can be crafted into stairs and slabs like other materials.
Barley: Barley can be used as a replacement for wheat in the cake, bread, and cookie recipes.
